In order to improve all employees’ emergency awareness, enhance their ability to respond to sudden disasters, better understand the company’s emergency management system, become familiar with evacuation routes, improve self-rescue capabilities, and ensure personal safety, Changniu Machinery organized an emergency drill activity on June 22, 2021. Based on actual workshop conditions, the company planned three types of drills: electric shock emergency response drill, confined space emergency drill, and forklift emergency response drill.
At 2:00 p.m., the electric shock emergency drill was carried out first. The drill focused on the division of responsibilities and emergency response measures when a worker suffers an electric shock on site. It helped employees understand how to provide timely and effective rescue and handling after such an accident, and to minimize the severity of injuries as much as possible.
Next, a confined space emergency drill was conducted. The scenario simulated a spray-paint worker entering a drying room after confirming safety and wearing full personal protective equipment to clean paint residue. During the operation, the supervisor received notice that the operator felt unwell. Rescue personnel immediately put on respirators and used a stretcher to evacuate the worker. Afterwards, the confined space was ventilated again, and toxic gas detection and further ventilation were carried out.
Finally, a forklift emergency response drill was conducted. In the simulated scenario, a short circuit in the forklift of the foundry workshop caused a fire. Relevant on-site personnel followed the “Forklift Emergency Plan” to carry out scientific and orderly response operations, effectively preventing the situation from escalating and minimizing losses.
Through this emergency drill activity, employees’ safety awareness was significantly improved, and their awareness of risk prevention and self-rescue capabilities were further strengthened. Employees gained a better understanding of how to identify hazards and take necessary emergency measures, enabling rapid, orderly, timely, and effective responses in the event of an accident.
