Eliminate potential accident hazards and build a solid safety defense line

In anticipation of the 19th National “Safety Month” in 2020, on May 12, 2020, the General Office of the State Council Safety Committee and the Ministry of Emergency Management jointly issued a notice. With the theme “Eliminate Hidden Accident Risks and Build a Solid Safety Defense Line,” the notice deployed nationwide activities for “Safety Production Month” and “Safety Production Ten Thousand Miles Journey.”

The notice emphasized that guidance should be based on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and that efforts should be made to deeply study and implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the Second, Third, and Fourth Plenary Sessions of the 19th Central Committee. It also stressed the need to thoroughly study General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on safety production, implement major decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on safety production, and focus on strengthening normalized epidemic prevention and control alongside the three-year safety production special rectification campaign. The aim is to promote a strong safety development mindset at all levels, strengthen and implement safety responsibilities, conduct in-depth risk inspections, promote rectification of hidden dangers, resolutely prevent major and serious accidents, and effectively safeguard people’s lives and property.

The notice required all regions and relevant departments to closely integrate local conditions and carry out the “Safety Production Month” activities in flexible and diverse forms.
