On January 31, the 2021 Economic Work Conference and 2020 Annual Advanced Recognition Meeting of Changniu Machinery was grandly held at the company. More than 80 participants attended the meeting, including company leadership, managers above team leader level, advanced production (work) employees, and employee representatives. At the meeting, Chairman Wei Jinxiang delivered an important speech, and General Manager Sun Hao presented the economic work report. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Party Branch Secretary Wang Wenxing. During the conference, outstanding teams and advanced production (work) individuals for 2020 were also commended.
The main objectives of the meeting were to adhere to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and deeply carry out the important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection in Jiangsu. The meeting conveyed the economic work conference spirit of Changchai Headquarters, reviewed and summarized Changniu Machinery’s work in 2020, studied and deployed key tasks for 2021, and mobilized all employees to face the complex external environment and strong demand from Changchai Headquarters. The company aimed to innovate management, improve quality and efficiency, ensure supply, and strive to open a new journey of high-quality development.
At the meeting, General Manager Sun Hao delivered a thematic report titled “Innovating Management, Improving Quality and Efficiency, Ensuring Supply, and Striving to Open a New Journey of High-Quality Development for Changniu Machinery.” The report comprehensively reviewed the production and operation performance of 2020 and provided detailed deployment of key tasks for each department in 2021. In 2020, Changniu Machinery conscientiously implemented the tasks and requirements issued by Changchai Headquarters, closely followed the annual business objectives, and focused on “innovating management, reducing costs, and improving quality and efficiency” as the main line of work. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company strengthened internal capabilities, worked pragmatically, actively carried out production and business activities, and ensured the supply needs of the headquarters.
In 2020, under the dual pressure of the pandemic and insufficient inventory, the company leadership responded actively, and all employees worked together, often working overtime, to ensure supply from the headquarters. The company also achieved its first turnaround from loss to profit since the technical transformation in 2012. General Manager Sun Hao also objectively analyzed existing problems, difficulties, and pressures, and on this basis, proposed the key work directions for 2021. In 2021, the company will focus on “innovating management, improving quality and efficiency, and ensuring supply,” and mainly carry out the following tasks:
1. Coordinate production, prevent and control the epidemic, strive to complete supply tasks, and steadily expand external business.
2. Benchmark against advanced enterprises, improve quality, and reduce quality losses.
3. Innovate management and optimize performance assessment to increase employee income.
4. Continuously carry out cost reduction and efficiency improvement to enhance operational performance.
5. Improve equipment management systems and strengthen maintenance and upkeep.
6. Strengthen safety and environmental protection work to ensure stable and orderly operations.
General Manager Sun Hao emphasized that 2021 is the Year of the Ox, with clear direction and goals. All cadres and employees of Changniu Machinery must recognize the situation, seize opportunities, and under the correct guidance of the parent company and the board of directors, carry forward the spirit of the “hardworking and dedicated ox,” “move forward without needing a whip,” and focus on “innovating management, improving quality and efficiency, and ensuring supply” to strive for a new journey of high-quality development.

According to the meeting agenda, Deputy Party Branch Secretary Wang Wenxing read out the “Decision on Commending Advanced Teams and Advanced Production (Work) Individuals in 2020.” The conference presented awards to representatives of advanced teams and outstanding employees for 2020.

Chairman Wei Jinxiang delivered an important speech. He first affirmed the achievements made by Changniu Machinery under multiple unfavorable factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, increased demand from Changchai Headquarters, and inventory shortages, thanks to the joint efforts of all departments and employees. He pointed out that 2020 was a year of remarkable achievements, but there were still areas for improvement. The year 2021 will undoubtedly be an extraordinary year, requiring improvements in quality, production, equipment, safety, cost control, and labor efficiency.
In terms of quality, it is necessary to further enhance employees’ quality awareness and sense of responsibility. In production, strict adherence to job requirements and stronger execution are required. Equipment management and regular maintenance must be further strengthened. Safety production is a constant priority, and safety awareness must always remain vigilant to eliminate accidents. Efforts should also be made in cost control and labor efficiency to tap internal potential and ensure the achievement of 2021 targets.
He emphasized that successful people analyze problems and find solutions, while unsuccessful people make excuses. All cadres and employees must strive to shift from being mere producers to becoming production and operation participants, so as to ensure stable and sustainable development of the company.
