Recently it has been learned that, benefiting from the continued strong production and sales momentum of Changchai, Changben Company has been operating at full capacity since the beginning of this year. With unified effort across the company, all teams are working at full strength to meet order demand. According to statistics, from January to February 2021, sales revenue achieved significant growth, continuing the positive development trend from last year.
Looking back at last year, under the complex domestic and international environment shaped by the global COVID-19 pandemic and uncertain economic conditions, food security became a top priority for ensuring people's livelihood. As a leading enterprise in China’s small diesel engine industry, Changchai encountered new development opportunities. During the sustained peak production period, Changben Company closely followed Changchai’s annual business objectives, strengthened epidemic prevention and control, fully utilized production resources, actively organized production, expanded capacity, and adopted multiple measures to ensure output, fully guaranteeing Changchai’s demand.
During production scheduling implementation, Changben Company actively communicated with the procurement department and the single-cylinder engine plant to promptly understand and grasp demand information, reasonably arrange production, and organize overtime work. The annual mid-year maintenance plan, which had traditionally been carried out as a whole, was decomposed and gradually implemented during rest days. Although the company faced an industry downturn in recent years and the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak in early 2020, through the joint efforts of all employees, Changben Company achieved its best operating performance in recent years in 2020, with sales revenue reaching a historic breakthrough.

During last year’s full-capacity and high-intensity production operation, Changben Company maintained a firm focus on quality control, emphasizing that the busier production becomes, the stronger quality management must be. While ensuring timely completion of production tasks, the company actively implemented a simulated Amoeba management model and organized quality improvement activities such as QC groups and supplier quality enhancement initiatives. Through improvements in process and on-site control, product quality was significantly enhanced and quality losses were reduced. In 2020, cylinder head finished product yield achieved a historic breakthrough, crankshaft casting yield stabilized above 96%, and the rejection rate in single-cylinder engine assembly decreased significantly year-on-year.

During the Spring Festival this year, under strong demand from the parent company and with no inventory at Changben Company, the company actively communicated with non-local employees, encouraged them to stay in Changzhou for the holiday, and introduced incentive subsidies for working during the Spring Festival. With the understanding and strong support of all employees, the machining branch resumed full-capacity production on the third day of the Lunar New Year, and the foundry branch resumed on the fourth day. After the Spring Festival, Changben Company has continued its full-capacity, overtime production mode, adding strong momentum to the company’s peak-season output.
In the face of continued strong market demand, the person in charge of Changben Company stated that the company will actively respond to the headquarters’ call to “fight for three months and win the peak-season battle,” continue to make persistent efforts to ensure high-quality and on-time completion of all production tasks assigned by the headquarters, and contribute to supporting agricultural development and capturing the peak agricultural machinery market in the Year of the Ox.
