On the afternoon of September 6, 2024, under the high attention and cordial care of the Benniu Town Federation of Trade Unions and the company’s Party branch, and after more than one month of intensive preparation, the Third Workers’ Congress (Employees’ Representative Conference) of Changniu Machinery was solemnly held. The conference elected a new Trade Union Committee, Fund Audit Committee, and Female Employees’ Committee. The meeting was chaired by Wang Wenxing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch and Chairman of the Trade Union. Company leaders and 51 employee representatives attended the meeting, and middle-level cadres above assistant level (non-representatives) attended as observers.
At the meeting, Sun Hao, Party Branch Secretary and General Manager of the company, delivered a speech on behalf of the company’s Party and administrative leadership team. General Manager Sun fully affirmed and recognized the achievements of the previous Trade Union committee. He also expressed hope that the new Trade Union leadership would adopt a new spirit, new working style, and new working approach, and unite and lead all union members and employees to care for and support the company’s operations and development with an owner’s sense of responsibility. He emphasized giving full play to the trade union’s role as a bridge and link within the enterprise, as well as the leading role of the working class, in order to make greater contributions and achieve greater results in promoting the sustainable and healthy development of Changniu Machinery.
Next, Wang Wenxing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch and Chairman of the Trade Union, delivered the work report on behalf of the previous Trade Union Committee. He reviewed the company’s trade union work. Since the last Workers’ Congress, under the correct leadership of the higher-level trade union and the company’s Party organization, the union has adhered to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, earnestly performed its duties, actively carried out trade union work, and promoted enterprise harmony as its mission. It organized employees to actively participate in the company’s economic, political, and cultural development, promoted the spirit of ownership among the working class, improved employee quality, strengthened consensus, safeguarded employees’ rights and interests, and made important contributions to the company’s economic development and corporate harmony.
According to the agenda of the meeting, participants were divided into groups to discuss three reports (Trade Union Work Report, Financial Work Report, and Audit Report), the election method of the Third Workers’ Congress, the proposed candidate lists for the Third Trade Union Committee, Fund Audit Committee, and Female Employees’ Committee, the proposed list for the “Changniu Machinery Labor Dispute Mediation Committee,” and the revised Employee Handbook. These were all reviewed and approved by the representatives at the meeting. According to the election procedure, the Third Trade Union “Three Committees” were elected. Each committee then held its own meeting to elect its leadership team, which was announced to the conference.
Finally, the conference set new goals for the new Trade Union leadership. In the face of new situations and new tasks, the future trade union work will be challenging and of great responsibility. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and by deeply studying the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and the 18th National Congress of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the union must seize opportunities and look to the future. With a strong sense of historical responsibility and mission, it should unite and rely on all employees, closely focus on the goals and tasks of this conference, further emancipate the mind, strive and innovate, elevate the trade union work of Changniu Machinery to a new level, and make greater contributions to the harmonious development of the company.
