On the afternoon of February 21, in response to recent quality issues identified during the assembly process at Changchai Machinery involving engine blocks and cylinder heads produced by Changniu Machinery, General Manager Sun Hao organized a special analysis meeting. Participants included personnel from the technical department, casting workshop, and machining workshops. Leaders from Changchai Group’s Quality Assurance Department, Technical Center, Procurement Department, and Single-Cylinder Engine Plant were also invited to attend and provide guidance.
At the meeting, Assistant General Manager Yang Yuhong reported on the causes of quality issues found in engine blocks and cylinder heads produced by the company since 2023 during assembly at Changchai Machinery, as well as proposed corrective measures. Representatives from Changchai Single-Cylinder Engine Plant and the warehouse inspection station communicated and exchanged views with Changniu Machinery regarding issues identified during incoming inspection and assembly processes, as well as inspection methods.
General Manager Sun Hao pointed out that although the quality issues reflected in Changchai Machinery’s assembly feedback appear to stem from employee operations, process execution, and inspection methods, the root cause is actually inadequate management. Future efforts must focus on improving on-site process execution and ensuring consistency in production processes. Management requirements must be further improved, and the principle of “no production, no acceptance, no transfer of nonconforming products” must be strictly implemented.
Finally, Chen Hongliang, Director of Changchai Group’s Quality Assurance Department, stated that all analysis and corrective actions for quality issues at Changniu Machinery must have clear completion timelines. Each production process should be systematically reviewed and standardized. At the same time, communication between departments must be strengthened, and issues should be promptly reported to relevant departments. For problems that cannot be resolved independently by Changniu Machinery, the relevant departments of the group will provide full support and assistance.
